Straight from the heart of our GAET ALUMNI
GURPREET SINGH
Hi, my name is Gurpreet Singh. I am 24 years old. I joined Yashodham High School when I was in IV Std in the year 2007 and continued with my education over there till I passed my Std X in the year 2012-13. I am grateful and have high regards for Chandrika Ma’am to have realised my specific disabilities i.e. difficulty in reading and writing and suggested my parents to make me join GAET Counselling Centre, so that I can out-and-out complete my senior secondary course over there. When I mention the ‘GAET Counselling Centre’, it makes me nostalgic and paves the way for me towards the wonderful memories to cherish. I would like to give my heartfelt gratitude and much respect to our CEO, Kothari Ma’am and all the teachers for making the entire learning process facile and effortless for me. My teachers changed and modified their teaching methods as per my learning style, thus, helping me to gain much needed confidence which further led me to meet my destined and desired goal. My hunger to meet my goal made me pursue a Diploma in Cookery and later on a Specialization in Patisserie. Today, by the grace of God and blessings of Kothari Ma’am and my dedicated teachers, I am well settled in New Zealand where I am currently working as a Head Chef in a reputed restaurant.
Heartfelt expressions from my Proud Mom: Just like all the parents, I also imagined my child pursuing a medical or engineering field. But I focused on the half glass full i.e. my son’s strengths rather than focusing on half glass empty. And today, I feel proud to see my son achieving greater heights in life.A student’s learning and success story is incomplete without his teachers’ support and motivation. So I would like to convey a special thanks to all the teachers who have constantly been a part of his journey.
JAYANTI JHAWAR
I Jayanti Jhawar, a Remedial Educator by profession, would like to share my incredible journey @ GAET. I have been a part of GAET schools from L.KG to grade 10. I, being a Neurodivergent learner, was always supported by GAET Counselling Centre in coordination with the school personnel. I successfully cleared my secondary level from the Open schooling programme in June 2007. I graduated with a degree in Human Development with specialization in Developmental Counselling which I consider as a significant milestone of my career. This success boosted my confidence and conviction that I could contribute to make a difference in the lives of children with special needs. Hence, opted for a PG Diploma in Early Childhood Care followed by B Ed in Special Education. This gave me an edge to consider myself as a candidate and a person who could take the job or assignment to facilitate learning of neurodivergent learners.Who could be better than my alma mater to work with! I was proud to be a part of the professional team of GAET Counselling Centre, where students with divergent learning needs are supported to reach their highest potential. The Teaching-Learning experiences I gathered are like a lighthouse which will always guide me in my personal and professional capacity.Deep gratitude to my mentors Ma’am Raina, Ma’am Chandrika and Ma’am Kothari and my beloved teachers and colleagues for their valuable input & unconditional support.
