FAQs for reopening of Lakshdham Playmate Pre-school
Q.1 What is the reopening date?
Ans: Re-opening date for Lakshdham Playmate Pre-School students is as follows
Tuesday, 1st February '22 - Sr. K.G.
Wednesday, 2nd February'22 - Jr. K.G.
Thursday, 3rd February'22 - Nursery
Parents will be allowed to accompany their child on the first day of school.
(kindly note the schedule given above. Timings for day one will be shared by the class teacher.)
School for Sr. KG students, Friday 4th February onwards.
School for Nursery and Jr. KG students from 7th February onwards.
Students will be attending school physically thrice a week i.e.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday. From Monday 7th February'22.
 
Q.2 Is school uniform compulsory?
Ans: Dress code for students -
Red T-shirt and denim shorts/skirt.
Footwear -comfortable shoes & socks.
 
Q.3 Students do not have ID card, will they be issued one when starting physical school?
Ans: Students will be provided with an I-card on the re-opening day of school.
 
Q.4 Do children need to carry books?
Ans: Jr.KG. & Sr. KG. students will carry a small backpack with one square lined notebook , one red and blue lined notebook (in use during the online class) two sharpened pencils, an eraser, a box of colour crayon labelled to school.
 
Q.5 Do students have to carry drinking water?
Ans: Yes. Students will have to carry their own labelled water bottle.
 
Q.6 Is mask compulsory for students?
Ans: Mask is mandatory for students. The child may wear a mask with a cord that will stay secure on them.
 
Q.7 What are the arrangement for arrival and dispersal of students?
Ans: Use of multiple gates for entry and exit of students following all SOP protocols.
 
Q.8 Vaccination status of Teachers and staff?
Ans: Both teaching and non teaching are vaccinated for 2 Doses.
Bus staff vaccinated for 2 Doses .
 
Q.9 What will be the monitoring mechanisms at school for any emerging symptoms of COVID 19, amongst students/staff?
Ans:Temperature of staff and students will be checked at the main entrance. In case, a student is unwell, he or she will be sent home.
Parents are requested to abstain from sending their ward to school if the child or any other family member is suffering from fever/ cold/ cough or any other symptoms.
 
Q.10 What is going to be the protocol regarding social distancing?
Ans: Students will be seated according to mandated physical distance both in class as well as school bus.

Q.11 What will be the precautions taken for student safety? How are schools ensuring physical distancing is followed within classrooms?
Ans:
  • Table and chair will be arranged in a criss-cross manner.
  • Students will not be allowed to move in groups.
  • Enough space has been created between the tables of the student.
  • Thermal check at the entry gate.
  • Compulsory mask.
  • No Toys as a precautionary measure.
  • Children will not visit Play area/ gazebo,theatre etc.

    Q.12 Will the teachers be taking offline and online classes simultaneously?
    Ans: A schedule for online and offline class will be notified by the class teacher.
     
    Q.13 Will it be mandatory to share information regarding Covid status of family member/s of students/staff? What will be the process followed?
    Ans: A Google form will be sent to the parents to give the details and submit the same regarding Covid status of family members/ students.
     
    Q.14 What will be the validity period of the Consent Form? How quickly can parents change their last decision as given in this form?
    Ans: The consent given by the parents will be valid for a fortnight. If parents wish to change their consent the same should be intimated via mail to the school and class teacher.
     
    Q.15 What are the covid protocols followed by the school?
    Ans:
  • Adequate clean and separate toilets for girls and boys.
  • separate isolation room to take care of students who take ill after reporting to school.
  • Cleaning and fogging will be done after classes.
  • Provision of Hand Sanitizer.
  • Thermal scan of every person entering the school premises will be done.

    Q.16 What are the generic precautions to be followed while attending school?
    Ans:
  • Stop hand shaking, avoid touching face, cover mouth during cough and sneezing, often use of sanitizer.
  • Students having fever, cold and cough should not attend school.

    Q.17 Will there be a snack break?
    Ans: There will be no snack break for students.
     
    Q.18 Will the students have group activities?
    Ans: Group activities will not be conducted.
     
    Q.19 How will the dispersal be of students?
    Ans: How will the dispersal be of students? Use of multiple exit gates for dispersal with proper social distancing and staggered timings.
     
    Q.20 Which area in the school will be set aside for Isolation?
    Ans: Separate room has been ear-marked as Isolation Room on every floor.
     
    Q.21 Will students be allowed to visit the common play areas?
    Ans: Students will not visit the common areas.
     
    Q.22 Will bus service be available? What will be the Bus fees?
    Ans:
  • We would recommend use of school Bus service as safety will be ensured.
    Fees to be paid for the months - February to May
    Approx less than 3 kms - Rs.750/- p.m.
    Between 3kms to 7 kms - Rs. 1000/- p.m.
    Beyond 7 kms - Rs.1250/- p.m.
  • Bus enrolment and Payment of Bus fees on 27th, 28th and 29th of January'22 during office hours ( 10:00 am to 12:30 pm).
  • Enrolment fee will be charged for new enrolments of Sr.KG. and All enrolments of Jr.KG. and Nursery.
  • Students travelling by school bus will be allowed to carry a (labelled) snack box. The snack box to be kept in the bus itself.

    Q.23 We have come across many earlier instances of physical classes starting in some schools, and how one student turning positive led to going back en masse to online classes. What is the plan if such a situation were to arise for our classes?
    Ans: In such a situation protocol laid by the BMC will be followed.
  • Student(s) showing signs of infectious illness consistent with COVID-19.
  • Teacher or staff excuses student(s) from classroom, cohort or area within the school.
  • COVID-19 POC takes student(s) to isolation room/area and ensures student(s) is properly supervised and masked.
  • The parent, guardian, or caregiver is called.
  • Parent, guardian, or caregiver picks up student(s).
  • Cleaning and disinfecting the areas that the ill student(s) occupied. Ventilate the area(s), wait as long as possible before cleaning to let virus particles settle (at least several hours).

    Q.24 Will visitors be allowed during school hours?
    Ans: No visitors will be allowed into the classroom area during school hours. Visiting school office will be restricted to working days only.
     
     
    General FAQs
    Q.1 How old is the school?
    Ans: The school was established in the year 2008.
     
    Q.2 What is the student teacher ratio?
    Ans: The student teacher ratio is 25:1 and one additional help in the Nursery.
     
    Q.3 Do you provide bus facility?
    Ans: Yes, we provide bus facility to the students who wish to avail of the same
     
    Q.4 How safe are the school buses?
    Ans: Our school buses are very safe. They are managed under the aegis of GAET. The bus staff is very affectionate and caring towards the students. Every bus has a male and a female attendant. All the buses comply with the guideline and specifications of the RTO.
     
    Q.5 Do you serve snacks/food to the students?,
    Ans: Yes , the school provides healthy and nutritious snacks to the students every day. Snacks is prepared in school by the school staff in a clean and hygienic environment.
     
    Q.6 Who do I inform about my child's food allergies?
    Ans: You have to inform the class teacher about any food/drink allergy your child has. You
    also have to fill in the Medical History form provided in the School Information Manual
     
    Q.7 How do you handle if a child falls sick or needs immediate medical attention during school hours?
    Ans: If a child falls sick during school hours the parents are immediately informed and advised
    to collect their ward from the school. If the child is hurt and requires immediate medical attention the parents are immediately informed and the child is taken to the nearby medical centre with due approval from the parents. No medicine is administered by the school unless the same has been given in writing by the parents. However, as a matter of practice we advise the parents not to send their ward to school if he/she is sick or suffering from any contagious disease.
     
    Q.8 Do you serve children with special needs?
    Ans: Yes we do, the school has a Shadow Teacher who takes care of the needs of the special children in the Pre-Primary Section.
     
    Q.9 Do you have a School Counsellor?
    Ans: Yes, we have in-house school counsellors for the parents and students. A well equipped
    counselling centre is set up in the school premises. Therapists and remedial educators are available throughout the day for the students.
     
    Q.10 What curriculum is implemented/followed?
    Ans: The school devises its own curriculum which is prepared by its competent teaching staff,
    keeping in mind the holistic development of the child.
     
    Q.11 Do the students go on a field trip? How often ?
    Ans: Yes, the students are taken regularly for a field trip. These trips are organised to
    enhance the child's ability to grasp the topic taught better.
     
    Q.12 Do you give any home work to the students?
    Ans: No, the students are not burdened with any homework.
     
    Q.13 How do you inform the parents of what the child is doing each month?
    Ans: At the end of every month parents receive the rhymes & the syllabus portion completed
    for that month. They are also informed of all the activities done by their ward during the month.
     
    Q.14 How do you inform the parents about their ward's progress/development?
    Ans: The child's progress/development is formally discussed with the respective class
    teacher during the Open House Days scheduled through the year.
     
    Q.15 How do you evaluate/assess the child?
    Ans: The child's progress is closely monitored each day during the various activities
    conducted. There is no grading or formal evaluation/exam system.
     
    Q.16 What are the extra-curricular activities for the children?
    Ans: Hobby classes are conducted in the various schools run by GAET. Students/parents can
    choose the activities of their choice.
     
    Q.17 Does the school have a playground?
    Ans: Yes, the school has its own playground adjacent to the school premises. Students are
    regularly taken there for free-play activity.
     
    Q.18 Do you have an Annual Day celebration?
    Ans: Yes, all the three sections have a Class Annual Day wherein the parents are invited to
    watch their ward perform.
     
    Q.19 Who should be contacted for feedback/general queries?
    Ans: Our web-site has all the information related to the school. Feedback and general
    queries,if any, can be emailed to us. However, our helpful office staff is available during office hours, to answer to your personal queries.
     
    Q.20 Is my ward's admission secured for High School?
    Ans: Yes, after your ward has completed the Pre-Primary education and wishes to continue in the school, he/she gets promoted to the Primary Section of the school.
